Too Hot
Red Rock Canyon State Park, Oklahoma
Tuesday, July 26, 2011. We were really looking forward to this park located in a canyon with red rock walls. It has a swimming pool and we set up camp in 101 degree heat. The pool was a short walk from our campsite and we could see water jets and a slide. Ahhh...it was closed. Locked tight with the water jets left on. That night, the outside termperature dropped to 99. Thank goodness our Casita has air conditioning.
We left early in the morning but the heat wave extended all through Oklahoma and far into Kansas. Every time we traded drivers, we'd say, "let's go a little farther" and we did. We arrived home that Wednesday, two days early.
What a wonderful time we had!
